PS3

Dear Gamers,

What the fuck is wrong with you? Why would you bring a gun to a place of commerce, much less SHOOT someone with it? Standing in line for a console is weird enough, but this?

Also, if there are 1000 of you lined up somewhere, and there are less than 100 available, 800-900 of you need to go home. You don't stand a chance ( Read more... )

crass commercialism, games

One actualy went for $10,100...its believed to be legit.

Then there is the one that a group gang-banged and bid up to $99,999,900....everyone that placed a bid after about 100,000 is no longer a member of ebay.

Hell, anyone who pays $600 for a PS3 day one is a mook if you ask me. The launch line-up, outside of a few decent titles, is lackluster at best. The Wii at least has a handful of solid titles worth dropping $250 on.

If Sony drops the $600 PS3 to $500 by next Xmas and they get MGS 4 out the door, I might bite then, but right now, not a chance in hell. I'm more than content with my 360, soon to have Wii, and all 3 current gen systems.

My Wii60 will more than suffice. It's gonna take a really great game to get me to buy a PS3 at any point.

My strategy has worked great for years. I wait a few years after a console's initial release and then buy it & all the games I want for cheaps! I can get a GameCube for fifty bucks now. Probably less now the next generation is on the move.

In doing so, you shun the gamer culture.

When mentioning this strategy as one to brag about, you give off an aire of superiority.

I'm perpetually irritated by people who brag about the movies, games and TV shows they abstain from. Life is about experiencing things, not avoiding them.

In conversation, when someone's embarrassed to reveal that they've never seen a Lucasfilm movie, or that they can't follow Lost anymore, that embarrassment is humble, and endearing. When someone deploys the same type of personal trivia as a matter of pride, as though these are enriching decisions they've made for themselves, it sounds boastful in the way the Christians tried to prevent by making it a deadly sin. You might not get sent to a fiery pit, but you're not impressing anyone either.

I believe you've mistaken my frugal jest as arrogance. It should be pointed out that I'm not avoiding or abstaining from the Wii, I just don't feel the need to own one right now. In fact, I'd be happy play one, with you or anyone else who would invite me.

it certainly crossed my mind to get in one of those stupid lines just so i could resell the unit. hell, who can't appreciate a 300+% profit? but the fact of the matter is, sony really blew this one.

most stores got less that 12 systems. who thought that was a good idea? i mean, hell, it even happened near milwaukee where system shortages and poor crowd management resulted in injury ( ... )

The entire entertainment division is in trouble, all resting on the success of the PS3. But because whatever bad decisions that went into that division is being heaped on the games division (Blu-ray), it's just dragging the system down.

Six-axis control... there are only THREE axes in 3-D space, idiots!

It will be even funnier if blu-ray dies...man that would just piss Sony off.

Now how to best make this happen...*mutter $600 for a damn console*

None of Sony's proprietary formats have taken off. I don't see why this should be any different.

Sony is boned.
