I fear I'm not a gamer any more.

I was just over telling cecil_oa how I have bought three Wii games in recent weeks, but got bored or haven't played them for whatever reason (Transformers -- sleepy, RE4 -- bored, Prime 3 -- haven't beaten Prime 2 yet). Y'know, I had sworn off buying new systems about three years back. My last purchase before that had been a Nintendo 64, and I was so let down by it that I became involved in other things. Then I got a DS, and I was back in, head-first and hardcore. I couldn't put the thing down. So then, I got a Wii which, I'm sad to say, I look at every so often, and even fondle the Wiimote a little, but I haven't actually played outside a social gathering in something like...since I moved into the new apartment. I bought RE4 shortly before the move, but I haven't even so much as loaded it into the console yet. I just have other things to do now. I don't know. Maybe I'm trying to recapture my childhood, and failing because it doesn't feel the same as it used to after an hour or so. Like you, I also have the problem with the 70+ hours it takes to beat a game these days. That might be why the DS drew me back in. It's all about the mini-games. You pick it up play for ten minutes, then it's back to life. I dunno.
