I got those argyle in the blue/red combo and was kind of disappointed. The photo makes them look textured, but its just screenprinted canvas (at least mine were). I'd vote for the tweed for that reason alone.

The tweed might also be screenprinted, though. In which case I'd go for the argyle just because I like the pattern more (houndstooth has always looked too busy to me).

The last pair of tweed slip-on Vans I got were the real deal, textured and all.
