Okay: here's the thing. SJ Tucker is a sweet, generous, talented woman who has freely given of herself and her music for as long as I've known her. Unfortunately, a recent illness (entirely unplanned, as illnesses so often are) has left her with a lot of medical bills hanging over her, and the life of a bard has never been a terribly lucrative ( Read more... )

Ordered. That's an impressive list of contributors...

It might be an idea to make the link bold, or bigger font, or otherwise call attention to it, I originally tried the link at the top of the post (which doesn't link to it as far as I can see) and didn't see the actual one because (in my flist) ir was buried in the text.

Thanks for the tweak -- I've added a bold link to the ordering info at the bottom of the page, to make sure folks see it.

Yup, that stands out now. (For some reason links I haven't visited appear in the same font and colour as the rest of the text, making them hard to see. I don't know why, I'm sure that they used to be bright blue and turn red after I'd visted them, now they turn dark purple...)

I wish I had the $$$. The pitiful little leftovers (and maybe not even that) is all going to adoption-related tasks right now.

That said - there's something happening in Orinda Saturday we'll be up to take in, so I will be around this weekend.

(I may yet recycle up the $$$...gimme time.)

That ALSO said - I saw this and immediately thought of you:

Motorcyclists in Nigeria have been wearing dried pumpkin shells on their heads to dodge new laws forcing them to wear helmets, authorities have said.

Officials in the northern city of Kano said they had stopped several people with "improvised helmets", following this month's introduction of the law.

Road safety officials said calabash-wearers would be prosecuted.

I've already seen this in another journal on my flist and have ordered my copy. I'm excited to have the book, and excited to be able to help.
