Every month I make a post to tell folks what I'm working on, a) because it seems polite, b) because it keeps me accountable, if only to myself, and c) so you will understand why I do not have a social life. As always, I am in awe of your productivity as well as very grateful. My favorite author writes so many books, it's like a gift!

I keep trying to write, but I'm running into a "everything is perfect in my head and I'm too afraid to write it down" problem as well as a "not sure I love any of these ideas enough to write them down" thing. The idea that I do love requires such a massive amount of research I'm a little scared of it. Mostly I'm too paralyzed to actually write. Writing: harder than it looks.

The only way to break that barrier is to start writing. It does get easier, even if it's never easy, promise.

Wow! I devoured Symbiont over the course of a vacation week, and now I'm back re-reading Parasite. It's so cool! I'm finding so many beautiful touches in the first book that foreshadowed themes in the second book, and it's such a treat to see them there where they were hiding in plain sight.

I am so very excited for Chimera. Yay Seanan!

When I look at this list and see things with identical status for like a year, it makes me feel better about my own projects that have been in the same status for a year.

Course, you're producing Toby and InCryptid books as well as an unholy quantity of short stories where as I am not even getting that done. So I really only feel better for like, five seconds.

This...actually makes me feel really bad, and like I don't do enough work. :( I may need to rethink the current projects posts, if this is the message I'm sending people.

No no no, it's good. It's like seeing a movie in extended development, but without worrying about what the studio is doing to screw it up.

And it proves you're almost human. Because, honestly, no one can produce as much as you do at such speed and be human.

Thank you for sharing your short stories freely on your website.
I just finished reading the first batch of the InCryptid stories, with Jonathan and Frances, and was crying during the last two. I will be getting the InCryptid books, and will be trying out your other series as well.
