And then people said some nice stuff.

So io9 has named Indexing one of their books you can't afford to miss in January. Not too bad for the little serial that could, huh? I love how much support this wacky experiment in being very, very serious about very, very ridiculous things has been able to garner, and while I haven't seen the print edition yet, I have other books from 47North ( Read more... )

reviews, toby daye, midnight bluelight special, indexing, chimes at midnight, incryptid, good things

Print edition of Indexing is on order, so part of your power bill will be paid! I'm looking forward to reading all of it at once. <3

All well deserved!

And in other fronts, I found a box set of the Newsflesh Trilogy yesterday. I'm new to this series but already liking it a lot1

Glad to see it's getting a dead-tree, all-in-one release. I'll be sure to pimp it where I can - it honestly convinced me to continue to pick up your other stuff (let's just say I was less than happy with A Local Habitation).

I am glad that I have continued to improve.

I'd suggest giving Artificial Night a try if you like the world. In retrospect, I think ALH is the weakest in the series; the books all improve with each new one after that. Late Eclipses, book four, is where the series hooked me for good.

Oh, I've stuck with it - I really enjoyed Artificial Night, and I just downloaded Late Eclipses from Audible the other day.

If I had to sum up my problem with ALH, I guess it would be that it seems like all the characters have a death-grip on the idiot ball. I saw most of the big "twists" coming a long way off, and most of the drama from those could have been resolved if everyone just sat down and spoke honestly for five minutes.

For the sake of my sanity, I've just assumed that most of these problems stem from rushing it out as quickly as possible.

And yes, Ms. McGuire, apart from this one book, you have continued to meet and exceed my expectations.
