There's always a little bit of awkwardness when a friend says "hey, will you read my new book?" They are, after all, your friend, and while you might well have sought out that book on your own to get to know your friend a little better, once they actually know you're reading it, then they might find out if you hate it. Oh! I love A Girl and Her Fed! Note to self: Pick this up. :-)

(it's still 2013, so best book you've read this year)

[Edited to add: Whoops! I already picked it up. Time to get to reading!]

It is in fact a great book. It's in the top two best books I've read so far this year (the other being American Elsewhere).

Not only should people buy the heck out of this book, but they should nominate it for a Hugo.

Well. I blame you for the several hours I just spent reading A Girl and her Fed. I shall inflict this upon the boy. I shall also have *another* thing in my reading queue.

I bumped Digital Divide to the top of my "to read" list after your initial tweet, and am glad to have done so. I'm not sure whether it's the best novel I've read in 2013, but it's certainly in the top 5, along with Ancillary Justice and all three of your novels release this year. :) It's solidly in the "buy hard copies to foist upon friends" category.
