Pre-ordering books.

I've seen some people going "Oh, no, I pre-ordered! I'm sorry!" and variants on this theme. I want to state, for the record, that pre-orders are awesome. Yay for Seanan feeling better!

I've already stopped buying anything at all from Amazon, but this discussion has led to me realizing that, while I don't have ALL the money, I can at least afford to buy the books of my three favourite writers (one of whom is you) from my local indie bricks & mortar.

(For anyone who's looking for one in Canada that also ships, this is Collected Works, in Ottawa).

I've been attending writing workshops held at that store off and on over the last couple of years. Their snack bar is an addictive place.

And that doesn't even begin to cover their book stock...

*hugs* You are handling this mess with real grace and style.

I'll be buying my copy fropm my local indie bookstore when it comes out. That way I get the bonus of flirting with the cute guy behind the counter.

Hey, a girl's gotta have hobbies.

*bows* I live in a town with English majors, art students and musicians. You should come visit.

Please take time and take care of yourself. I can't imagine what it would be like to get those kinds of threats. Just remember lots of us have your back.

how do your non-US sales figure into all this? presumably they count towards overall sales but not to US bestseller lists?

Okay. I will still be getting my copy in the specified week so as to help push it toward the bestseller lists. But it's good to know the other stuff.
