Just Curious...How many copies of a book need to be sold approximately for a publisher to want more of a series? Also do print copies and digital copies count the same in their considerations?

It depends on a whole bunch of factors, only some of which I understand. But "sold a lot" has never cancelled a series, so I just shoot for that.

I know you would like us to buy from a local US book shop but do you know any who we could buy from ( As 2nd and 3rd copies for friends ) where international postage is reasonable in comparison to the price of the book. Am afraid my first copy will come from Amazon in the UK as shipping is cheap but I know this will not count for your new york times numbers....

Honestly, the NYT only really counts in week one; I say go with whatever source gets you the best postage deal.
