Stabby Girl

A script for an idea ayannah had and gave me to flesh out and script. That's why there's notes at the beginning and scattered throughout. Enjoy.

Okay, here's the deal: If we can get this done in time, we can put it in with the other shorts. If not, we'll expand this (or write another story) and give it it's own issue.

I'm thinking we should stick with a simple panel layout. Maybe three page-wide panels per page, unless we go with a splash page or two.

Oh, one more thing before we start-- I kinda lost the notes you gave me so I completely forgot the lead characters' names. Sorry.

Page One-

Panel One- Tight on SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG's (That's what I'm calling him until you remind me what his name is.) face. He's looking pretty damn pleased with himself.

Panel Two- Wide on a group of villagers, looks of shock and horror on their faces.

Panel Three- SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG standing face-to-face with the head of the village.

SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG
Now, about the rest of my money.

Page Two-

Panel One- Splash page. Now we can see the entire area. SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG's walked out of their town. It's in ruins. Rubble and fire everywhere.

SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG
Seriously. Where's the rest of my money?

Page Three-

Panel One- STABBY GIRL (That's her temporary name.) crouched on a rooftop. It's night. She's hunting. Her phone rings.

Panel Two- Without removing her eyes from her prey, she taps the 'Answer' button on her earpiece.

STABBY GIRL
STABBY GIRL

VOICE
(We should do an electronic effect on the bubble.)
I, umm. Is this STABBY GIRL?

STABBY GIRL
Yeah.

Panel Three- Let's do a shot of her looking through the scope of her sniper rifle, tracking whatever beast she's hunting.

VOICE
Well, you were highly recommended and this umm. This sounds a bit unbelieveable--

STABBY GIRL
I'm in the middle of something, so why don't you tell me the job and I'll tell you if it's unbelieveable.

VOICE
Of course. Of course. I'm sorry.

STABBY GIRL
Anytime now.

Page Four-

For this page, I want to follow the creature she's hunting. Just have the speech bubbles free floating., no tails or anything.

Panel One-
The creature is stalking its way down a dark and seedy-looking section of a large city. Someone's on the street. The creature notices and goes straight for them.

VOICE
Well, we've been having troubles with a.... A monster, I guess you'd call it.

STABBY GIRL
Uh huh. How big?

VOICE
What? Oh, umm. I don't know. Maybe two, two and a half meters?
(This description's not set in stone, I'm just throwing it in so there's not gaps in the dialogue.)

STABBY GIRL
I can handle that.

VOICE
Really? Because the last guy we hired said that too. All he managed was levelling the town.

Panel Two-
The creature's head explodes like a sledgehammer hitting a goddamn melon.

STABBY GIRL
"Last guy?"

VOICE
SURLY MCDOUCHEBAG

STABBY GIRL
Oh Christ. Are you serious?

Hold on.

Panel Three-
The creature's now headless body drops to the pavement. The civilians never notice. (Maybe do an inset panel of her smoking rifle barrel. Or just do the panel wide with the barrel on the right and the corpse in the bottom left corner.)

STABBY GIRL
I hate that arrogant prick. Give me the details on the job.
