AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! They're making a TV mini-series for the Sword of Truth! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! And I'll be in OTS!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So happy and yet so sad!!!!!!!

Course movies of good books have a lot to live up too. Richard doesn't look manly enough. Kahlan not purty enough ( Read more... )

Dearest, your enthusiasm for this makes me happy. But unfortunately I am not familiar with Sword of Truth. It's a book series you say? What's it about? I'll have to look it up.

It follows the whole sword n' sorcery formula. Man's father dies. Saves mysterious girl. Finds out his long time friend and guardian is from a different land and is a wizard. Is given the Sword of Truth and is named the first true Seeker (of Truth) in 1,000 years. It could rapidly descend into the cliche, but Terry Goodkind created a whole believable world, with real characters that you actually care about and connect with and... ugh... summary just doesn't do it justice. *is geeking*
The first book is called Wizard's First Rule, and I'd recommend it to anyone that's ever any remotely dipped their toes into the fantasy genre. It is fantastic. Later in the series it starts to taper off a bit, and get a little frustrating, but those first few couple of books... Totally worth it! ^_^

I'm just not sure how this is going to play out on network TV.

Also, very belated, but thanks for all your fantastic fics- and best of luck with OTS!

I know. Like the Mord-Sith? Goodkind has some totally dark elements. :S Just to see it put to life, though... I know it could never live up to what's in my head, and anything they cut, I'll be annoyed at... (like I can already tell from the previews; they're actin' like Zedd and Richard have never really talked before and I'm like whaaaaaaaaaaaaat... Zedd is like a mentor to him!) But still... I don't know... can't contain my excitement......

And how awesome would it be if they continued on into the series? Carrying him over into the Old World and training him as a War Wizard... Oh, and Gratch! I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to see Gratch. ^_^ He's awesome in my head, but the nerd in me wants to see what they would do with it...

And thanks so much for the well wishes!

Hmm, iTunes now has the first 30 minutes up for free. They've changed the meeting of Zedd, Kahlen, and Richard significantly. Who am I kidding though- of course I'm going to be watching it!

I just stopped in from almost having a life to say: OMFG! I had heard they were doing this but I didn't know it was REAL!!!!!!! A syndicated show?! I agree with your worries about the casting but right now I don't care!!!

My brother chucked the first book at my head two Christmases ago and I couldn't put it down! I haven't been able to get the other ones (stupid small town and only recently having access to buying things online), but I am so beyond stoked!!!!!!!

Come Sea, geek out with me! *geeks out*

Alright I've seen the first ten minutes and they were introduced by Xena so that's got to mean it'll be great...right? Right. I'm all worried about Richard, he doesn't look buff and truth wieldy enought, but I shall hold out hope that they didn't just cast random beefcake. The thing I'm most worried about (apart from can they go dark enough on TV) is that in the previews it looks like Zedd and Richard don't even know each other *nail biting*. Maybe it was just after Zedd told him the truth about who he used to be and Richard's all "I don't even know you man!"...but less hokey. *hopes*

Despite all worries *geekgeekgeek*

Yeah, I picked up on that slip between Zedd and Richard too. I hope they don't depart too much from the original storyline, 'cuz that's a sure fire way to piss me off... As for the beefcake argument; True dat! Right now, I'm a wee bit worried about Richard...Kahlan and Richard are supposed to have this great love, and I'm not so sure that the TV show's version of Richard even LIKES women, ya know what I'm sayin'? And he's supposed to get all bad ass and... I dunno, he might suprise me!

One of my big concerns is Darken Rahl, 'cuz they could turn that into a hoke fest from hokey town and campy city if they're not careful.

But like I said. It could be a total crapfest, and I'd still watch it. *geeknerdgeekjoy*
