Two views from my island nest.

Have I mentioned yet that I'm on an island? It tapers off down toward St. Augustine, and we cross over a branch of St. John's River to get to mainland Florida.

Anyway, have the view from my bathroom:

Cut for images, natch )

on the sea where i would ever be, photo blogging, love where i live

But this is the view that told me I was in the right place, and which I am leaving a bit bigger so you can really appreciate it

I'm glad you don't have to go far for the sea.q

It has been my saving grace on not a few days.

I'm thinking about the songs you must have sung when you moved in <3

My sister and I have both lost our voices, unfortunately (more unfortunately in her case, since she's had professional training and had an amazing voice, whereas I was never a fan of performing and have leveraged my busted vocal chords into poetry recordings about which people say very nice things), but we did make the attempt, because I am living in a piece of local history and I needed to properly introduce myself. Since the singing didn't work out so well, I have been instead reading aloud the poetry I compose here. I'm satisfied that's working for my purposes.

Poetry is a gorgeous, wonderful substitute. Lucky house. Lucky spirits.

Oh, gorgeous. The sea is wonderful, of course, and I've always wanted to live somewhere that has palm trees.
