That, combined with the nightmare that is SIL's job, has led us to start checking into the feasibility of moving back to San Diego. SIL is ( Read more... )

This is a hard environment on immune systems. I feel better in hot, humid weather, but I don't know how I'll handle the allergens long term--or how my husband will. We'll see. I'm sorry this didn't work out for you.

Yeah, hot and humid is great for my nervous and musculoskeletal system, but then the mold gets in and it all goes to hell. So San Diego seems the best compromise between the conflicting things my varying illnesses need.

Yeah, I'm really afraid we're going to find that too. Although the house we rented is near the ocean and breezy, so maybe that will help...although I'm afraid the trees might try to kill me.

Have you looked at the price of houses in San Diego recently? One reason we're considering going back and buying a house is because prices have seriously dropped. As in, places we'd looked at as recently as just before we got assigned here are about $100K cheaper. The area we're looking at, decently close to the beaches, Little Korea, and the Whole Foods up in La Jolla, as well as all the shopping in Mission Valley, is Clairemont Mesa/Serra Mesa/Linda Vista.
