I am pretty sure this counts as some form of getting schooled.

One sale, the poem "Kindler," to, uh, Star*Line, in fact.

Also, kinda hilariously, the first step in creating a non-profit organization is picking the name under which the organization will incorporate.

boom baby!, po'try!, generic happenings, that'll learn me

That is so totally the one I'm going to propose, but I'm waiting to hear from Debbie on how she wants to handle it before I make the official motion and scrounge for some seconds. Are you signed up on the mailing list?

On the Yahoo Listserv? I am -- but I so rarely read it lately! I have to start paying attention again.

I do the same thing. I try to skim each message to see if there's anything in there of particular interest to me, but I so often have brain fog, I miss things (same thing happens on my flist a lot). Also, when I have paid more attention, I frequently get irritated, so it's better for my mood to miss some things.

Congrats!

I am intrigued by all this talk of starting a non-profit, by the way.

Thanks!

It's a thing we're trying to do with the currently-named SFPA (Science Fiction Poetry Association). Since a bone of contention I (and others) have had with the organization is the name, and it's been thought that proposing a name change might go better if it was part of the status change to non-profit, it's kind of ironic that the first step in applying for non-profit is choosing the name.
