I tried a starfruit for the first time as an adult, when one of the kids was having a Hawaiian night at school (that same occasion, I got a great recipe for a dessert made with coconut milk).

It was delicious.

When Squire comes home, I'll ask him to take me to T&T Groceries. They have a little section of *rilly* exotic fruit that sometimes includes cherymoya. The only fruit I've had that was truly inedible was durian, and apparently I'm not alone in that opinion.

Be sure to pick out all the seeds in your cherimoya. Those things are poisonous if you eat them. And I liked durian when I tried it, but I'm told that's very, very rare.
