So Utah, despite the presence of a few bases and despite the number of Utahns in the military, is not actually one of the most supportive states of the military. One way this comes out is in its treatment of out-of-state residents. In fact, I can't really tell you if the Utah government doesn't like out-of-state residents because most of them are ( Read more... )

I would believe that Utah is unsupportive of its military. My state is unsupportive of a lot of things. Yay for the new wheel though! :D

Am I to take this post to mean that someday you'll be back behind the Zion Curtain? *hopeful*

There are other things that lead me to believe Utah is specifically unsupportive of the military, though it certainly isn't thrilled with out-of-state residents. Still, it led to a gorgeous new car, and maybe next year, I'll get my whale plates ( ... )

Aw, I'm just the opposite. Miss Utah like crazy whenever I leave for too long. I suppose when you grow up in a place, you get used to it ;).

I have heard lovely things about the Pacific Northwest. A really, really, really good high school friend of mine lives in Seattle and has nothing but lovely things to say about it.

Sorry I've not been commenting too much lately, btw. I've been meaning to congratulate you on all your sales :)

I grew up about equally in Utah and California, with a few other states thrown in for good measure. I was born in Oregon, though, and we tried to visit every summer when I was a kid, and every time we crossed the Idaho border into Oregon, I'd get that feeling that this was home. I got the same feeling, only bigger, the first time I saw the ocean. Clearly, the combination is a winner. *G*

I'm from the PNW, and already knew I loved it, but this year Spouse got a bit of TDY up to Seattle, which was his chance to check it out. He didn't want to come back. He's a mountain and forest person, and all the trees won points with him. Plus, the rain meant his allergies were the clearest they've been. So, yeah, we think it's the place.

No worries, hon. I know you've got a lot going on, and I haven't exactly been good about commenting to you, either. I was so excited to see your lovely new book, and your jewelry makes me happy, even if I can't buy any of it. I hope things get better for you. *HUGS*

And that is how we ended up with a new car. His name is Bishop, after the chess piece

I have to say that I first assumed he was named after Aliens, but that is in no way a bad thing with me. Mazel tov!

This is where I admit to never having seen any of that movie franchise. I do know how to play chess, though. Sorta. *G*
