I love Jericho! With the reluctant hero, and the scary conspiracy and the fact that people DON'T go all Lord of the Flies when completely isolated.

Yes! I love that there is hope and togetherness and family! And Hawkins is so badass.

Squeee! Another Jericho fan! I've discovered the show last year and was happy to be able to watch it all in few runs, cause the episodes were just THAT good. I loved the first season, but I love the second one just the same. It's different, but it's so packed! You must watch it too:-)

And YES to the thought of you vidding Jericho! Here's a link to one of the great vids made... http://www.rightsiders.com/jericho.shtml

It is a very good show to watch all in a rush; it builds well on itself.

Thank you for the vid link! My next step is to find vids to watch so I appreciate that!

Dude, I feel your pain! I just got finished reading a fun fantasy series and all I wanted to do is squee about it with others. Alas, the books were published in the early 00s and the series' fandom presence is non-existent. D'oh.

I tried to take Eureka for a spin by way of the eps on demand, but the previouslies of the first few available eps were talking about a jaunt back to the '50s and I was like whoooooooooa. I cannot start a show in the middle of a time travel paradox! I don't have any context! Although, in retrospect, the episode that drew me into Farscape was Kansas, so I don't know why I feel that way.

If you can find it, start with the first episode of this season's Eureka. It is the whole origin of the time travel thing, and it's where I honestly started watching it fully. I've caught a few episodes here and there for the past few seasons; my husband is an avid fan. But I gave this season a go and the time travel starter is a good ep to begin with, if you don't have a lot of background on the show.

Thanks for weighing in; I've been very much on the fence, but I am sure I can find ep 4x01 on the internets. With regular season baseball ending soonish, I'll even have time on my hands for a new series.

Hee - what fantasy series was it? *is curious*

As the commenter above says, you can definitely start with Eureka this season. You won't get all the context of everything, but I think the show explains enough in the previouslies/the first few episodes that you'll be fine. It's SO MUCH FUN and they treat all the characters well and they act like ADULTS.

I just started watching Eureka this season (call it the Callis Effect ;) and have been enjoying it, but it puts me in a weird position to discuss it since I don't have a lot of context for the characters, past arcs, etc. I was very happy - and relieved - they didn't reset the reset. When Alison 'died' I feared it was going to be a case of the only way to bring her back was to alter the current timeline dramatically and wipe out what had happened since their return. And she and Carter are so cute together!

Oh, and Colin is very much Carter in person. ;)

Yes, me too! I was convinced that was what they were going to do and it was upsetting. But no! They went a totally different direction! How refreshing!
