The Decemberists are offering their entire January Australia concert free and streaming here. It's a really good representation of a D's concert - fun banter, great live takes on songs, and a nice selection of older songs intermixed with newer stuff. I've had it playing in the background this morning and it's been making me happy ( Read more... )

Clearly entomophobia is fear of gay humanoid trees. Duh. (Which, yay for answering no. All humanoid trees are equal and not to be feared!)

The Losers; Babies

Okay so I know about each of these movies, but just for a second I read it as one complete movie title. And it was kind of amazing.

A baby grand piano. A trip to space.

I WANT YOU TO HAVE BOTH AT ONCE. AND SDWOLFPUP ON SPACE PIANO.

omg, that movie would be hilarious. "Look at this shitty baby! He can't even roll over!"

Space piano FTW.

I would kill... OK, maybe maim people slightly, if that meant I'd get to see The National. So Saturday wins my vote. Plus, MMJ and Broken Social Scene!

But then, Sunday has Massive Attack (OMG MASSIVE ATTACK) and Monday has a fantastic lineup, too. The only reason Sat > Monday for me is because I've seen a bunch of bands from Monday already.

Saaaaasquatch.

I know, I know! It's such a great lineup I curse the only one day limitation. The National is a pretty big draw for me, PLUS Garfunkel & Oates. BUT MGMT and the Low Anthem! Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem! It's tough.

Wow, tough poll. Seeing The Hold Steady live would be a good time, but I suspect much more so if you're a fan of theirs. Still, Saturday also has OK Go and Broken Social Scene! But I voted for Monday, mostly on account of MGMT, She & Him, and The Mountain Goats.

Have you seen The Mountain Goats live? I...I have to admit I'm not really a fan, but are they one of those bands that maybe would win me over with their live performance? I don't know what it is, but they don't really do it for me, so I don't know if a good live performance would change that or not.

MGMT though! SO TEMPTING.

No, I haven't. I want to, though, even though I'm also not a devout follower. There are a couple of songs I do like, and I hear nothing but good things about their live shows.

OMG I would go on Sunday just for Nada Surf and Tegan & Sara, but you've also got The Long Winters, Fruit Bats, Simian Mobile Disco... wow. The Saturday lineup looks pretty good too, though.
