Jan 24, 2006 09:44

Following in f1renze's footsteps, because I really enjoyed hers, here is the Stunning Conclusion to my IJVP. We'll laugh, we'll cry, we'll learn and grow.

First, here are direct links to each vidlet, as well as links to the original posts. All of the vids are DivX AVIs.

You're welcome. ;-)

Of course, I'd selfishly love to see my pick extended, but, I have to say I absolutely adore 'Time' (OK, the L/L aspect helps ;). I've lost count of how many times I've watched that over the past couple of days. I'm going to try to watch some more of the vids here at work because I'm geting a taste for the allure of this vidding thing. :)

The L/L aspect would help anything, really. Actually, that vid would expand really well, I think there's a lot of meat to grow it into a full vid. I'm glad you liked them! :)

I voted for Rain Come Down in the vid expansion question; I loved the look and feel of that and it felt the "shortest", the one where I most thought, "hey, where's the rest?" But I would love to see a longer vid out of Time. No pressure intended or anything, but I thought I'd mention it. :-)

And while I'm here; second favourite vid moment out of all these was when I realised you were doing Roslin-in-the-brig for this. Way to hit a girl where it hurts!

Thank you for your thoughts, especially your comment about the moment you realized Adama was Jupiter. I'm so glad that that worked.

And I am really considering "Time" as an expansion; there's a lot more story to tell there. I have to see where my inspiration is going to be post-IJVP. I might want a break from these songs first. :)

I cheated and chose three favorites. ::sticks tongue out::

I love doing and reading the awards, because the vidder so totally can't predict outcome from process. "Orbiting Jupiter" and I take that knife away from you.

Congratulations again! ::skips down the street with you and our new Blur friends::

Cheater! Hee.

The process and the results really were fascinating. Especially when I've had some time away from the immediate release and emotion and I can appreciate it more.

*skips away with you*

I am woefully behind on the vidlets, so I can't vote yet. But I will! Eventually ( ... )

Whenever you have time to vote, no rush!

I agree on how some of the vids feel complete. Actually, almost all of the vids feel complete to me because I specifically picked very short narratives or themes since I knew that would be all I'd have.

My trouble with "Orbiting Jupiter" were my own expectations, no more. I adore the song, and I expected too much out of myself while making it. I think given an adjustment on the narrative, maybe making it about Starbuck and her relationships with multiple people as Jupiter (or a much larger look at her and Adama's relationship, which could also work), OJ (heh) would definitely be a solid full-length vid. BSG seems to really lend itself to meaty vids.

Ha! I cheated the best. I picked five. And I only stopped there because I realized if I clicked one more ticky box I wouldn't stop at six.

But you foiled me with the radio buttons. I would also have liked to vote for Rain Come Down, Orbiting Jupiter, Time, and Completely for full length vids. Me and the #5 are buds.

I have to save you cheaters from yourselves. Hee. Thank you for the input, though!

Aw, it's not your idea's fault! It was mostly software/hardware issues and just the emotional lowpoint of te project all coming together at once. Bad timing. Blech.

I should have chosen a Buffy vid to "Beauty and the Mess".

Except that's what I'm doing for my VividCon vid this year, most likely, so it's best you didn't. :)
