birthday question.

Dec 15, 2010 08:33

Greetings, everyone.

Today is my birthday.

As I do on this day every year, I am going to ask a question.

Tell me one thing about myself that you think I should know all year round. It can be a story, too. And if you do not want to post publicly, you can email me at birthday (at) sharyn dot org ( Read more... )

birthday, question

Happy Birthday!

What you should know all year round is that your sense of humor glitters like razor blades and is as sharp as the sea.

You should know that my children think you're scary-cool.

Happy birthday, fellow Decembrist!

One thing I think you should know is that you are scary smart and scary elegant. And sometimes, only a very few sometimes, just scary.

As coincidence would have it, you came up in conversation yesterday twice--two completely unrelated conversations. I don't know you very well at all, and I rarely talk about you, so it struck me as remarkable that you'd come up twice--and then that you (who don't post often on LJ) should happen to post this question.

From your perspective, I don't know that it's worth remembering that you came up in my conversation twice one day, but maybe you'd be cheered to know why:

In the first, it was in the context of haikujaguar mentioning that you were honest about the way publishing worked. I then said that I had liked you based on seeing you at one panel at Readercon back several years ago. In the second, I held you up as an example of someone who was lively, entertaining, full of interest in things, and gorgeous--and not, that I knew of, married. (I mentioned it to the friend because she was feeling low about being unmarried.)
