Okay, remember how Seth was such a great character in S1, and remember how he became an ass in season two and following? Does anyone remember a specific thing that made you think, "what an ass", because, dude, really. I remember the whole idea of not liking Seth, but don't remember WHY EXACTLY. Damn it.

I just finished re-watching season 2, and here are a couple of things that made me think that Seth was an ass.

1) Summer shows up and does the amazing spiderman kiss and a week later, Seth is crushing and obsessive over Reed because Zach likes her.

2) Kirsten has to go to Rehab and Seth says, "I know it's partially my fault." This is right after saying that he knows he is being self absorbed.

3) Seth is determined to go away to Miami so that he can't screw up his relationship with Summer again and ends up going on MTV and kissing another girl on telelvision.

4) oooh, end of season 1, Ryan explains why he doesn't like/trust Oliver, and Seth ignores him because Oliver took them to Palm Springs.

5) Complete lack of work ethic, Seth's girlfriend at the Bait Shop breaks up with him, but throws a kickass anniversary party for his parents, he immediately quits working at the baitshop.

. . . all of these moments were kind of lame, and I'm generally pro-Seth.

Okay, the Oliver arc. That works for me. I can totally get behind that.

Hmmm. I might never have forgiven him for that. Okay, I might have forgiven him, but never really forgotten. I wonder what Ryan would say...

Oh babe---are you writing a "Why Ryan Should Hate Seth But Doesn't" fic? I LOVE it (is that what you wanted to tell me the other night when I was busy?) I can prolly think of lots of shit for you---I can go back in my TWoP and LJ comments for certain eps and find HUNDREDS of examples!!!!!!!!

I think "Why Ryan Should Hate Seth But Doesn't" can very well be a series. *g* I'm writing what could be one of the spinoffs. Where Ryan is bitching at Tatiana about Seth but Tatiana knows that no matter how much bitching the man does, he can not really hate him, because Ryan has, at one point or another, told them a lot of things about his life and they've realized that yeah, Seth is an ass, and Ryan still doesn't hate him.

(I think the other night I was working on something different. More... humor, and I can't sem to do humor. This story was started for the More Joy Day but you know me and short, so the way I'm going it's going to take me at least a week to finish it. I still wanna write a ficlet, though)

I'll still need the examples! I wanna write bitter Ryan. *g*

I pretty much thought Seth was an ass from the Model Home episode when he was golfing while Ryan was putting up the tent by himself.

I wanna give Seth season one as a trial period. But season two was just too much, for me. *sighs*

I've sort of always thought of Seth as an ass. There was only so many times I could write off his treatment of Ryan as his lack of social skills. I think my lack of liking Seth (as opposed to just hating him) probably came to fruition with Oliver's arrival. Oh, and Sandy pisses me off too.

I thin neither of them really treated Ryan the way he should have been treated, but I can't rewrite the whole show. And we certainly can't hire them all back to play the show we wished we could have seen... so, yeah. I can totally make Ryan bitten about certain things, though. Right? Not everyone IS THAT NICE. *g*

haha see i was an avid Seth and Summer lover..Ryan was never in the forfront of my oc obsession...but then i started reading more and more Ryan fics and less and less Seth fics and soo basically fics changed my mind not the actual show lol.

Ryan does Rock!!!! But Marissa killed Ryan for me and when she left and Ryan and Taylor appeared it was definitely an awakening to a great Character i didnt see before. Definitely was a Sethummer shipper now definitely a Ryan shipper.
