So here's the deal. In the 20's the provincial government of Ontario in conjunction with the University of Toronto had a museum built with the sponsorship of a member of the British royal family I don't remember who. Clearly they haven't put the best planners in charge, or the planners are trying to make too many people happy. Aluminum Paramecium is a perfect title for an article and/or letter. You could write a letter to the editor, it might start a movement? I think I send off five or six letters a day to legislators and newspapers where I work. Sadly, being part of the lobby is the only way to influence them. It sucks. Is it similar in Canada? Could you write letters of concern to the Mayor? Would it help at all? Do I ask WAY too many questions?

Heck you could ask them to add the aluminum tentacles!

Sadly, writing to Mel Lastman our dear mayor is only likely to get us more pearls of wisdom from the former furniture store owner. He runs the city like one of his ads. (Who's in charge here? Nooooobody!)

The people in charge of the money are the Progressive Conservative government. The PCs are the Republicans of Canadian politics, but the Ontario government has mutated into the right wing loony quotient. They've managed to kill people with bad water in one town, destroy the health and education systems and are in the process of running up everyone's enery bills by privatising Ontario Hydro.

But enough about the curse of the PC government.

There is no purpose to lobbying because any lobbying has already been done. It was this whole contest with three sucky designs. It's just that this one won and I felt like ranting after seeing the models again.
