Very interesting! I agree, a show with a great premise and cast and characters can become a great show over time even if season 1 is a little uneven. some of my favorite shows had a shitty first half of S1, and some shows that were great at first ended up awful in later seasons.

I don't think early Season 1 was "shitty". It was simply doing its job in setting up the series and the Season One arc. You can't just jump into the main narrative from the beginning and without any set up. That's just piss poor writing, as far as I'm concerned.

LOL I didn't mean AoS was shitty at first. But I have, in general, seen shows that were at first and turned out great, and vice versa. Being slow at first says nothing about how great the show will end up

Neither is jumping into the main narrative with a "dazzling" premiere. I have yet to see a show that maintained quality writing from a first great episode.
