If it were me I'd probably just call it "When I left her," although I don't think that's a very accurate teaser for the rest of the poem. Maybe "My mother is Washington state?" That's always how I title my journal entries, pick out the best phrase in quotation marks :P

Also, I can't believe your mom is that old. Well, I can, now that I think about how old your siblings are, but she definitely doesn't look that old.

And on a semi-related note, I said something about Tukwila the other day and everyone I was with thought I was mispronouncing tequila.

Oh, and I think it's absolutely beautiful. I just got so distracted with trying to be helpful. :)

ha ha tukwila=tequila. That actually is making me lol in my office here at school. Thanks for the help, I've settled on "my sunstroked memory" for now but since it's more about her I might do "my mother is washington state" I was hesitant to do it that way cause I thought it might be too obvious, but it's the first line I thought of in the whole poem so it probably only feels like that to me. Also, Northwestern poetry contests eat that stuff up lol.

This makes me miss home so much. I also feel like I am the offspring of the Pacific Northwest. No matter where I am, it will always be such a strong part of who I am. It is my identity.

I would be more likely to pick something clever that subtly hints at the context but not directly. If I wrote this poem I would probably call it something like "Northwest's Progeny" or some sort of synonymous phrase.

I totally relate... The longer I'm away from the Northwest... The more I realize how much a part of me it is... and how much it is home. Like, the region is home- not so much my house there, but the region.
