Love this. Love our chat sessions. Love our non-existent wiffle ball team (Can we be "The Shippers"?)

Oh hello. Love our chat sessions too!

UHM, YES WE CAN! Our team, ftw, clearly! I'm shortstop though! I CALLED IT FIRST!

Can I warm the bench? That's what I did in softball. That and right field.

She was probably the very best person that Ben Wyatt had ever met in his entire life. And Ben had once met Cal Ripken, so that was something.

I love this line, because it is such an utterly in-character Ben thing to think. You nailed it. :)

And I totally agree with you on the episode. Yes, I've been enjoying the ship-centric episodes they've been tossing at us ever since Harvest Festival, but I loved seeing the show returning to its core in this episode. It was a timely reminder of how much a woman of action Leslie is, and how she can pull not just her friends but a whole community together to make extraordinary things happen. Basically, Leslie rocks.

I also loved the BFF moments with Ann, and the oh-so-perfect birthday dinner for Ron. Great episode.

And this fic is a fun way to imagine Ben's perspective on the whole thing. Because we all know he worships Leslie when she pulls off big projects like this. :)

Aw, thank you! I could just totally see Ben meeting someone huge like Cal Ripken and needed to somehow work it into a fic.

I loved how overall well-written this episode was. And for them making it clear to us just how dedicated Leslie is.

He totally worships Leslie; when he gets those puppy dog eyes when she does something huge and selfless, THEY KILL ME.

Eagleton was good, just not one of my favorites. I don't mind putting the ship on the back burner, but the humor in this ep just wasn't clicking for me. It definitely had many redeeming qualities in showcasing Leslie's multipronged awesomeness as well as great moments between different characters, though.

ANYWAY. Thanks for posting another entertaining story. I am always interested in what Ben's thinking, especially here where he wasn't saying much, so I loved this. I know he wouldn't have been happily sitting idly by after she was hauled off, and I wanted to see him at the wiffleball game, so thank you for giving me those two things. :)

"Leslie's multipronged awesomeness" should be a fucking BAND NAME. Or, like, a trivia team, or somehow used in fic in some context, because YES.

Glad you enjoyed it! I want so much more of Ben, I want the behind the scenes Ben, I want Ben out of his freaking button up and tie!

Why DIDN'T we get to see Ben at the wiffleball game?! I looked VERY closely, and he totally wasn't there at all! NERDS!

This season Lackey = loss. I loved the idea of him but, what, he pitched maybe one, two good games so far???

Lackey is AWFUL. ...why do we keep on spending money on all of these subpar pitchers.

And conversely, I LOVED this episode, partly because of the lack of Ben/Leslie. But not so much because of the ship itself, but because it meant we got to see more of Leslie bonding w/ other characters.

Hahahah, of course you did. Leslie bonding with everyone was really, really touching. She's such a wonderful, selfless character, I just... I love her.
