This scene was sorely needed! I appreciated how you wrote Sam's reaction: stunned, disbelieving, and hopeful when he finally had a moment to process Dean and his mom being there!

Thanks so much. How I missed seeing that 'processing' on screen. The Js are so good with those tortured emotions. Sure, we got some in 12.03 *sniff* but greedy me wanted more in 12.02. I get the sense I'm not alone. ;-)

I am with you on the quibble part, as well as still in love with the boys from the 1st trailer I saw for the new show 12 years ago until the final curtain eventually comes down.
Love the fic and I needed the brotherly hug just as much as you did. Thanks bunches, you did this really well.

You know, they call the SPN fandom a family - well, we'd be a pretty strange family if we agreed on everything (Chuck knows, the Winchesters don't!) so I think a quibble here and there is healthy! :-) And fortunately, there's still far more to like than not - that's why we're still here, right? \o/ I'm so happy to see you, and we got a fic too - what a treat!!! Yes, I needed a hug, and a little extension of Sam's thoughts as he struggles to deal with the fact that the bother and mother he thought were dead, actually aren't!!! Lovely missing scene (I adored how Dean didn't want to hand over the keys either! to Mary!)

Sam's head is a lovely place to be if you like playing with tortured emotions (no pun intended). What we got onscreen was awesome but sometimes I wish I could peel back the commercials because it feels like some of the best scenes are hidden beneath. Course, that's what fanfic is for, right? :-) Cheers!
