I DID wish that they dealt with the problem of Sam's recovery! He was hurt BADLY, and any hospital would assume the worst with injuries like that! My only consolation in watching the episode in the first place was that Sam wasn't making a move to help with burning Adam's body at the end at all. Because, he couldn't with those injuries.
This was a great tag, and a great explanation as to what could have happened afterward. I also loved that he was getting the shakes even then. Well done!
Logic says they can't play out every moment of h/c some of us would like, *g* but the gap here was a little, um, Grand Canyon-esque. Glad you liked this filler. :) Big hug!
Guess what! In the recent help_haiti charity auction, I won the typesetting services of a talented fan who is willing to put together all my favorite SPN gen fic into an anthology I can actually hold in my hands and turn real pages, and wallow in whenever I want!
I'm striving for a collection of stories that span the years (and unfortunately, nothing of epic length!). It's really hard to find something set in season 4 that I like. It can't be too hopeful or it isn't canon; it can't be too depressing or I won't want to read it over and over.
Ideally, the focus is on the brothers, and a dash (or more) of h/c guarantees multiple re-readings from me... when the story is as well-written as yours are, anyway.
With your permission, I'd like to include In the Blood in my collection. The stories will all be credited to the authors, and if they are willing, I'll lso make the volume available at cafepress to other fans, at cost (no profit).
I really liked this addition to Jump The Shark!! Sam was pretty tore up and as usual they just glossed over it. When it goes from one episode to the next you can figure some time passed for them to heal 1or at least not look all beat to hell. But when it's within the same one and they don't really even comment on it...that kind of makes me crazy!
I really like how you handled this and also the acknowledgement of them being in Pastor Jim's area. Of course there would be folks they could call on for help! If Sam had gone to the ER with his arms cut that way they would have suspected they were self inflicted.
Totally agree; usually, when there's a time jump over the commercial break it makes sense; but every now and then, it's like, "Hold on a minute..." This was definitely one of the latter for me (and for quite a few other fans as far as I can tell) so it was a fic just begging to be written.
Really glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for reading!!
