Fighting the 9/11 Thurse

I was looking through some writing that I had done in the past and came up with this piece ... which to me is the strongest bit of "Godhi-hood" I've ever done. There was a lot of grasping back then and I think I helped many people at the time.

There is a lot of good in this, yes. Including the detail of using thurs, not jótunn.

Where I have quibbles . . . Otherwhere is real. As you say in the next paragraph. It's the skepticism of recent ages that has taught us to express that sense of otherness as unreality, but we need to combat that. There is a difference between a vision and a hallucination, and between the gods and other wights we believe in and products of imagination. And possibly related to that--Thor knows his business. He is very much able to smite the enemy. Perhaps just a difference in terminology, but I think it's important for us to be very sure we trust in our gods.

Heathenry is at something of a disadvantage in offering comfort. This is an ongoing challenge, because that's a difference that the Xians have always exploited. But I do think this is a good response . . . although obviously a more US-specific one than I would have written.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of the threat from the east in such a form, but it would make sense. Such prayers would be a constructive thing.
