TV

I haven't watched any new TV yet! Hopefully I will find time this weekend, but work has been too busy. My list of shows to watch is relatively short and may become shorter very soon:

Shows I have to at least try out:
  • Gotham
  • The Flash
Shows I may give up very soon:
  • Agents of SHIELD - I have no enthusiasm for this show. Even though I love a handful ( Read more... )

tv:agent carter, canon:marvel, tv:castle, tv:agents of shield, canon:dcu, tv:elementary/sherlock

I really liked the pilots for Gotham and The Flash a lot!

I gave up on Agents of SHIELD towards the end of season one because it kept infuriating me to an unhealthy degree.

OMG AGENT CARTERRRRR THOUGH! CANNOT WAIT

I'm very fond of the Gotham Central graphic novel, so I hope Gotham does it justice. And while Barry isn't really *my* Flash (I love Bart best, then Wally), the show just looks like a lot of fun. :D

UGH WHY DOES AGENTS OF SHIELD SUCK SO MUCH. I enjoy Jemma, and I'm extremely protective of Melinday, Skye, and Mike Peterson, and I'm so fucking bitter over what they did to Mike and Akela Amador (I don't know your stance on Coulson, so I will hold off on my bitterness unless you have the same rage), and the fandom is just no fun because while I totally fall on the "Ward is a Nazi, I don't need to see his redemption arc" side of the argument, it's not fun *having* the argument. Hating on a character, even a character who deserves it, is just stressing me out.

Hiiii *hugs* We gotta have faith in Agent Carter though! If the one-shot is any indication, the premise of the show will be "hello, Peggy is here to be your feminist hero in spite of the sexist assholes around her" and I can totally get behind that. :D ( ... )

My stance on Coulson is... not pretty. He should be kissing Melinda's boots and thanking her, not forcing her to apologize. And SERIOUSLY, he thought Triplett might be HYDRA????

The whole Ward arc was awful(let's use abuse as a characterization shortcut! And then have a villain rape him! But it's okay because he's a villain too! And then let's have him threaten to rape Skye! And try to apologize for the HYDRA Nazis! How edgy!), and that alone made me wary about the show. But Director Coulson is what tipped me over the edge. Oh yay, the white man has wrested control away from the black man and the women! Everything will be better now!

Honestly I quit with this show because Coulson committed the one unforgivable sin of TV: He was boring as FUCK.

I never did get into Agents of Shield.
I am going to give The Flash a try, it's had good reviews. I watched Scorpion and if the pilot is any indication, it could prove to be fun. Not a Batman fan, so I don't think I'll be watching Gotham. I am looking forward to Elementary and Castle too.
And of course Once Upon a Time!

You should count yourself lucky that you never got into Agents of SHIELD! I *am* looking forward to Agent Carter, though, and since the showrunners are two women and the lead actress has already voiced her desire for a strong, complex female lead character, I'm hopeful. :)

I haven't heard of Scorpion -- I'll take a look since you mention it!

I haven't really followed OUAT, but it's on my list of shows I should watch. Whether I get around to it is another matter! *hugs*

ETA: Whoops, wrong icon! Here's Bart Allen, Kid Flash.

Are you not a Sleepy Hollow fan, Scroll? I'd think you'd enjoy it.

I've seen the pilot and possibly the second ep? I think the characters are awesome and I try to support it on a... non-fannish way. I mean, yay multiple POC! Interesting female characters who have interesting relationships with each other! But I got burnt out on the "supernatural" genre a while back so it's hard to actually watch the show. I may give it another try, though. I hear such great things about it!
