Hee! I'm glad you enjoyed the meta! And yeah, that vid is just incredible. settiai says that she might do a Director's DVD post on the making of her vid, which would be awesome to read.

Oh, my. I don't normally get into vids because they typically smack to me of using too much of somebody else's work and claiming it as your own. But the fact that this uses music from a band in Richmond made me curious, and I have to say that I'm glad that it did. This is a beautiful piece of editing work set to a fantastic song. Just really, truly lovely.

I love vids, but I agree with you that some aren't as thoughtful -- more like a condensed version of canon with new music. But when the vidder has developed a theme, told a story, or reworked the clips in some technical fashion, vids can be fantastic. I thought this one was brilliantly done, nothing over the top, but spot-on for movie!Steve's character and story thus far.

It really is brilliantly done, especially since I felt like it not only showcased Steve's backstory, but it really captured the flavor of the song as well. In fact, I think it's a shame that Marvel would probably sue if Carbon Leaf used this as a promotional video. I think it would help them in their efforts to see their music outside of the usual distribution channels.
