It doesn't make him special, or heroic. It doesn't make him anything but a guy who has a really shitty thing happening to him, who's handling it as best he can.
Okay, I see what you're saying. I guess the thing about Babs being heroic and being in a wheelchair is that it's not like one thing led to another, either her being heroic leading her to be in a wheelchair or her being in a wheelchair leading her to be heroic. I mean, yes, her being in a wheelchair shaped the kind of crime-fighter she was going to be, but she always had the heart/calling for it. In as much as she is a fictional character, I think her becoming Oracle was a de-fridging... but maybe that's not the best way to express it? As though she's somehow better because she's in a wheelchair? I can see how that'd be offensive.

And the implications that someone shouldn't - or shouldn't *want* that, just so that there can be diversity or to prove to the public that being in a wheelchair doesn't suck- I just. It makes me very uncomfortable. You're right, and I'm sorry for ( ... )
