Heh. Maybe after I finish SGA S4 I'll enjoy the cute side of Sam/Rodney more. Having only seen them interact on SG-1, I'd need her to be really, REALLY drunk to believe she'd ever go for him. *g* But hey, drunk sex could be good too, right?

Hahaha, she'd still have to be drunk XD But I think it would be a mutual drunkeness at this point.

But, oh, SGA S4. My favorite season. The season that made me love Sam XD I ship Sam with EVERYONE in Pegasus (except John, he's too gay). Especially Radek. But I could totally see her and Rodney waking up and then freaking out the next day.

Rodney's journey from SG-1 to SGA S5 is the one that makes me happiest. The Rodney we know now is so radically different and changed and grown up from the first Rodney we meet. I mean, he's still a dick, he's still self-absorbed, he's still oblivious, but there are actual people in the world he cares about! He's been out in the field, he understands that it's really not just about him, no matter how much he pretends. He makes his own family of people just as freakish as him. It makes my heart happy. ♥

Oh absolutely. I'd compare him a little to Daniel and to Wes on Angel, only both those characters leave behind "spazz" almost entirely by the end of their arcs, whereas Rodney is still an endearing goober in many ways ;)

But fiction, and sci-fi in particular, is pretty kind to geeks. They get the most character stuff, we get to see them really change and grow and mature. Contrast Daniel or Rodney to Cam Mitchell, who is an awesome character, but who hasn't undergone that kind of radical change, at least not on screen. Coming back from possible paraplegia refined Cam, made him stronger, but it didn't make him swing so widely personality-wise as Rodney has since SG-1 S5. Cam already had all those "hero" qualities Rodney's learned in the last five years. Luck of birthright, I suppose.

Funny re Sam: I can 'ship her with John no problem! They're pretty cute together! Will have to link you to fic. But then I started off 'shipping John/Teyla before McShep. Now I like John with anybody BUT Rodney. Just for variety!
