It just gives me those. Crazy emotionally abusive boyfriend vibes. Like, distancing Jon's friends, creating like, a relational vacuum so that Jon has to be dependent on him?

Ahhh, perhaps because it's so short? I'm like 185% positive Stephen did something really especially monumentally stupid to warrant this reaction. And he's not exactly distanced--this is Stephen, after all.

I dunno. I honestly didn't expect that reaction.

Hmmm... >> I'm trying to decide whether Stphen's genuinely intimidated (thus the gasp) or it's because he knew he was messing with Jon back in his mind. Either way, yay for story!
