I have The Invisible dvd in my hot little hands. The dvd includes deleted scenes and wonder of wonders, four of them are Callum's. Of course, the first thing I did was make caps of these scenes.
Tonight I've watched the scenes with the commentary on and the director offered up one little Callum related tidbit. In the last deleted scene where Detective Larsen tackles Pete, several takes were required. Callum and the other actor were doing their own stunts. Callum hurt himself doing the tackle.
The director made a reference to an extended version that includes some of these deleted scenes and also ties up some of the loose plot threads that he admits were left dangling in the theatrical release. I wish they had released the extended version on dvd.
I have the dvd playing with the director's commentary running right now. There's been a criminal lack of mention of Callum. He and the writer are really trying to sell the whole "invisibility" theme and the whole "Nick/Annie destiny/meant-to-be-together" theme.
The director, David Goyer, does relate one Callum story. He mentions that he directed Blade: Trinity and he had cast Callum in a "rather small" role as a vampire. He realized that Callum was a higher caliber actor than the role called for and he was embarrassed to have him playing that role. Goyer told Callum he'd offer him a better role in a couple of years. Well, I guess it is a better role than Asher Talos in a marginally better film than Blade: Trinity but come on! This was the best he could do?!
