Ran out of money - ian had to get his teeth done - so pretending to be on an island for our holiday week involves not making it into town today. love you all anyway.

ps one of our friends has photos up on the second floor of the cbd library until sunday if you want to go peak.

and boy is it hot.

and we went to aus. zoo today. omg SO HOT! we came home and ran around underneath the hose for a moment just to cool down a bit.

ooh a hose, that sounds like a cool idea.

i remember when we were kids we had this old bath in our backyard and we'd fill it up and sit in it under the old grevillea tree. Our new house is next to the train line with no trees and I'm just waiting for the sun to go down and the temperature to drop 10 degrees and then I'm going to make an apron (for all the strange things to do)

I'm so jealous of the hose.

ian's big on animals but we haven't been to aus zoo. We usually go when we head to different cities - aquariums and zoos. My brother's heading to Berlin this week and I told him he should go to the zoo there - it's one of the best ones we've been to!

i love the hose! and it doesn't take long to get wet. sometimes we just fill a bucket and that's enough! water restrictions/conservation are always on my mind, but we were DESPERATE PEOPLE OK?

we have a family ticket for the year to zoo. got it for christmas last year, so we're trying to use it as much as we can before it runs out. it's been a great way to see it cos we can just pop in for a few hours here and there, rather than feel we have to stay all day to get our money's worth, you know?

today we sat and drew elephants. it was very cool. (or rather, bloody hot...)
