It's been ages since I've done something, so I thought I'd post this one snippet I wrote today for a friend.

Summary:  Kaoru is a fairy and Kenshin a mortal man and everything is exactly as it seems.  Of course it is.

Because, somehow, now I want Kaoru to wake up all person-sized. And cranky.

Kenshin: Yay! I knew you were pretty! Any fae who makes the village such a pretty place had to be pretty.

Karou: I'm going to beat you to death with a pie tin!

Kenshin: But I made chocoate-chip cookies!

Kaoru: ...maybe one

Kenshin: Exactly! It only makes sense to keep going with our courtship rituals!

Kaoru: *happy of chocolate* ...wait... what?

That's probably not the direction this would take if it ever continued, but it totally made my day.

*grin* Yes, well. My brain, of course, also had Kaoru waking up wrapped in a sheet on a couch in the corner of his living-space.... because of course when she got bigger, her clothes didn't.

Kenshin: Gah! I somehow failed to anticipate that there would be a Surprise! Naked Girl out in my garden! *godlike speed-style sheet-toga'ing*

ps-- considering Kaoru's traditional lack of cooking skills, the fact that she, in any form, would be so happy to have baker!Kenshin around makes me giggle, every time.

XDDD In this case, there was a little more of the story to it - as a mortal, Kenshin is engaging in an ancient bargain - feed the fairy, get protection.

...as an immortal, it's a little different.

But yes. Pie. Fairies, apparently, have a sweet tooth. And I think that fairy!Kaoru cooking things would make it even more disastrous.

*fangirl squee* I love it, as I do all the things you write, but Kenshin and Kaoru is extra-pleasing, like pie done as it should be. I really wish I knew what happened next though. Will the blood have some effect on Kaoru? Has Kenshin known she's been there all along? What would he say when she tells him she knows his name is false? Does that make his true name Battousai or Shinta?
