I have gotten a couple of reports from people (as well as trying it out for myself) that the various parts of beta.scribblit.com that were not working are now working ( Read more... )

I've actually asked the people who made journals for the game we brought over via your permission to do this over teh course of this past week. Some of them who had been having slowness and timing out issues [about 4 or 5 people] finally got things to load properly. One person who's been only seeing code got finally got the front page to load, but clicking the login link prompted her to download the ligin.bml file. Two people for whom beta was working well before suddenly cannot access it at all.

All these people however can access the main site with the beta code on it perfectly well.

Edit: I'm not entirely certain of the browers/OS they are using, but I'm reasonably certain it all Windows, and mostly Firefox as well.

For the first time ever, beta.scribblit.com actually loaded for me. However, I encountered the same problem mysticshell describes; the login, update journal, and edit journal entries links prompt me to download them as files.

Scribblit.com is now nonfunctional, but as I get actual error messages, I presume you're aware of that.

WinXP SP2, Firefox 2.1.

What error messages are you getting on scribblit.com? It should be functioning.

http://memoriam.scribblit.com/

currently gives me:

Notice

URLs like http://username.scribblit.com/ are not available for this user's account type.

Instead, please use http://www.scribblit.com/users/memoriam/

I've always used the subdomain URL with no issue. But going to the suggested link simply gives the generic:

Sorry

We're currently working on something. The site will be back up shortly.

This has been going on ever since the Switcheroo; since they're the standard LJ-clone messages, I just assumed that had encountered a hitch. Semagic won't update Scribblit either, though it doesn't give any particular error.

Hmm that's interesting. Are you able to log into scribblit.com and update your journal?

SI Main is working fine for me, and entries I posted and icons I uploaded to SI Beta that then never showed up appear to actually be in the database, because they are now up on SI Main.

However, SI Beta is not letting me log in. I am a Windows user. Opera gives me this:

I'm logging in and posting viewing things beautifully on SI Main, but when I try to comment I get a message saying I need to validate my email -- which I'm 99% sure I did previously on Beta. Anyway, I have requested the validation email 5 times and I got nothing. I checked my spam folder and verified that the address is correct, still nothing. It's probably some stupid thing I forgot to do -- I fail at all this stuff.

One more thing:

I'm not getting comment notifications on main, but I am on beta and it says it's because my email's not validated over on main. [It is validated on beta howver, and has been from the start, and I do get comment notifs on beta]. On main, I clicked the link to send a validation email and nothing happened. Nothing in my inbox, in my spam, nothing. Not on hotmail, not on gmail. I tried it several times, with different email addresses. Just nada. It won't let me verify at all, and I know it's not my email because I tried it again on beta and got it to send on from there. It just won't work on main.

Oh snap. mysticshell February 9 2008, 14:42:52 UTC
I don't know what you did, good sir, but yeah! I just got my validation emails [all of them] AND all the notifs I'd been missing. Thank you very much.
