ILU. I totally ship Esposito and Ryan harder than I ship Beckett and Castle (although okay, I ship them pretty hard too) and this is so the story I want to read about them getting together. Of course Esposito goes to family events and listens to Mrs. Ryan's drunken stories and knows about the closet. And of course poor Kevin is traumatized by memories of being stuck in a closet with musty snow boots and no Doritos and stupid Jimmy MacGowen sleeping on the floor. I love the little details of Kevin's New York Irish family (his father's more traditionally Irish name, him playing with other Irish kids) and also the hints that Castle and Beckett have been wondering where they'd gone off to and what was happening.

But mostly I love Esposito, who is often my favorite character on the show, being gentle and a friend and a partner, and how Kevin doesn't want to punch him at all. ♥

I love that Ma Ryan of course can't hold her Irish Whiskey and tells Esposito the closet story (also because you totally know Javi's been going to Ryan family functions for a while now ;), and poor Castle and his incorrect theory(ies)

I finally took the plunge, after a long time of tiptoeing around reading Ryan/Esposito and I'm rather smitten. This is so very lovely and so them. Especially this: kissing him feels like finally getting something Kevin never even realized he was missing.
