I'm watching Pride and Prejudice tonight (the Colin Firth version, naturally), and of course I'm always thinking about Pete and Patrick, and the two things started mingling together in my head. So now I'm trying to figure out how I could make a Pete/Patrick P&P AU work.

Here's what I'm thinking... )

(maybe Patrick needs to be in college for this not to be creepy
I think it would be better if Patrick is in college xD
And they should have sex. Seriously.

I'm going to give this some more thought. If I can figure out the problems with the plot, I will probably have to write it. Then I'll have an excuse to read the book again and write down all the quotes I want to make bandom versions of. :)

I guess I'll see if I can track down the story, and if my idea is different enough, I'll still write it. If I can figure out how to solve the plot problems I have, that is.

What do you think about Hey Chris for the Wickham role? When he and Pete had a falling out IRL, he posted some pretty negative thoughts about Pete's character on his blog.
Perhaps the Bennett sister counterparts could be Patrick's classmates or bandmates. "Jane" falls for one of Pete's entourage and the Lydia character could have drug or alcohol problems and somehow Pete is instrumental in saving hm/her.
And please don't forget Mr Collins! Surely there would be people developing inapproriate crushes on Patrick.
Could Lady Catherine be Pete's manager, who has other plans for Pete's future and sees Patrick as a distraction and a threat to his vision?
Take or leave those ideas, but please, please, please write P&P with PxP.

So what have you come up with for "Lydia?" How about "Lydia" does something that puts the whole music program in jeopardy? Perhaps she's an aspiring pop princess who steals someone else's material and passes it off as her own? Or, she's hiding some deep dark secret, something hyperdramatic, but I'm not sure how you'd make that a crisis for Patrick.
I'm really invested in this story now - you will be writing it, won't you?
