Yes, I watched PJ's King Kong last night (well, also the night before because it was too darn long for one sitting). And I think that movie should be in the dictionary next to "disappointing". Or perhaps next to "gratuitous abuse of CGI". Oh, and it would also fit with "tedious".

I haven't sene it and don't intend to. It's not really my "style", but more than that I suspected it had the problems you suggest. Like everyone, PJ has good and bad tendencies - and some film projects are more of a temptation to those bad tendencies than others.

Ah, yes, I think that's exactly it! It did watch like a pet project where someone had really enjoyed toying around with CGI and miniatures and whatnot but lost track of the actual storytelling.

If it had been told in half that time, perhaps people would actually remember something about the movie, instead of just reeeeally wanting to go to the bathroom during the last hour of said movie.
