Taking the Next Step with my Father

The last couple weeks have been very exciting for me. By exciting, I should specify I mean tiring, terrifying, crazy-making, difficult, arduous, but infinitely worthwhile! I've posted a few times about my situation with my father. Basically, he's been in poor health for some time, and is gradually declining. His conditions aren't the sort that

Thank you. I think this arrangement will be a lot better all around. He's getting a lot more of the attention he needs and I feel the situation has brought us closer. It's a good thing.

It really wasn't easy. I'm kind of glossing over how much it sucked knowing I was moving my dad into the second to last place he'll ever live in. He wont talk about his condition, so we just go on pretending nothing is happening to him. Even during this move - even when we had a 3 hour meeting about how his medical care should be structured - he never once directly acknowledged what the reality of the situation is. In a way it makes it easier, but it also makes it this weird pretend game where we do what we need to while acting like nothing is going on. It has been hard, but I have to keep the hardness to myself most of the time. At least he's safe now. Or...safer anyways.

It's been interesting to say the least. Quite an emotional roller coaster, but at least things have a sort of resolution now. Hopefully I can make some more upbeat updates now! :D
