Angst, Fluff, and Inferno

“Mom.” Connor stood on his tiptoes to look over the countertop at his mom. She was baking a pie, but after everything they just learned about Wesley, he had to interrupt her often to ask questions.

“Yes, Connor?” Mom was still cheerful and loving. She always made time for both of them.

“Can Wesley ever talk to strangers?” he asked. “I know I can’t, but...”

“Oh, sweetie.” Mom reached out and touched his cheek. “You’re not a stranger. No matter what.”

Connor nodded and admitted, “Well, I was really hoping he could talk to the ice cream man for me...”

Lol. The boys are funny and sweet.

He didn't even think of them as strangers.

I love the innocence of children. And these two love each other too much to even consider such a thing. Thanks for the prompt. When you gave it to me, I thought, somehow let's make this not angsty because it's too precious to skip.

Yeah, they do. It's nice, and I love that their bond is still that strong even despite what Wesley is going through.

I'm glad you didn't skip that prompt.
