Yes I knew about those. last Christmas I had this 'brilliant' idea to make a pretty purple potato salad, but once cooked my potatoes all turned white! Are you sure those are potatoes? I haven't seen a potato with a shiny skin before.

Google is sure, and they look like the ones we had for Fourth of July. (My mom made purple potato salad too. Ours ended up more blue.) They could have just washed them or they could have turned the contrast up in their picture. :)

I know about those!! When I'm not simming I am obsessing over food and reading recipes. :-P

However, I've never eaten them..... :(

I love the pictures! Did you take them? Or grow them?

No, unfortunately, those were just on google: I just happened to learn about them due to doing some research for my Bio class. I wanted proof because people didn't believe it at first. :)

Yeah I knew about these. It's a pity grocery stores are so BORING when it comes to variety in regards to vegetables, coz these are pretty awesome-looking. Apparently you can grow carrots in other colours, as well as purple and orange of course. Hmm, looking up the colours of carrots gives me white, yellow ,red, purple and orange. When I finally get a job (and therefore have money) I'm going to find me some unusual vegetable varieties and (attempt to)grow some myself...it's just a pity carrots don't come in blue.

I've always wanted to do the heirloom tomatoes myself, but seeing as I live in Wisconsin and the growing season is therefore all of three months long, it's probably not happening any time soon. We did get some interesting squash one year, though that was partly because we threw out a pumpkin in the garden and it sprouted in the spring, causing a weird squash-pumpkin cross-fertilized hybrid.

I would love blue carrots. :)

They didn't taste that great so we gave them away as Halloween decorations. :)
