Up to a point. I’d say it’s a case-by-case basis, really. I’ve known some people who have done some really terrible things that are really good people. It’s all got to do with intention and remorse. If you did something terrible without realizing it, or while trying to do a good thing, I’d say you could be redeemed from that. If you did something

You know. One can give up hope on redemption without exactly reveling in what they're doing.

Kinda? When something's too far out of reach, hopelessly so, you can drive insane wanting it anyway, or stop.

In that case, I don't think the wanting stops, just that the person stops thinking about it. And when offered the hope of redemption, they won't refuse.
