Peaches, Bauhaus, and Nine Inch Nails

Jul 04, 2006 14:14

Sunday night was the best five hours of my life.

Prepare for fangirling, rambling, and long paragraphs.

We had to get there early so we could find a meeting spot after the show.  The only problem was that the stage Joan Jett was going to be playing on was on the opposite side of the festival grounds, so we basically walked down there for nothing.  ( Read more... )

Sounded great! I would have liked to see Bauhaus and Peaches but I'm not too great of a NIN fan. I went to Summerfest yesterday to see Beatallica and Rusted Root. The people there were hilarious. At Beatallica it was all 40somethings wearing muscle shirts and Old Navy shorts doing the whole "too much metal" thing and at Rusted Root, there were mostly college kids high off their asses and drinking excessively wearing prairie skirts and Hollister polos. So much fun. I wanted to see Action Action, New London Fire, Electric Six, the Bangles, and the Dresden Dolls but unfortunately, I missed a lot of those bands and I probably won't be going back :/

...I so desperately want to go see them. I'm positive that they would have great stage presence.

hfaksdhfglkh WASN'T IT WONDERFUL? I still have to type up my review - this late, I doubt anyone cares, but hee.

I was kind of pissed with the audience for their behavior during the first two acts as well. Peaches was fucking outrageous - during 'Fuck the Pain Away' she came and stood on the seat right next to the friend I was with, sang a little, then hopped from row to row until she got to the stage. There was like no one there to watch her, though. :( But BAUHAUS! I thought people would be WETTING THEMSELVES to get to the venue early enough to watch them, but only about forty percent of the seats were filled by then, and everyone was so lackluster! I later found a few people who hadn't even heard of the Bauhaus before, at which point I seriously wondered if I should even be talking to them. Then again, they were Slipknot fans ( ... )

OMG YES. Psh, I don't care if it's late. I'd love to read it.

Peaches did the same thing during that song here, too! That's awesome that she came by you.

For the middle synth-y part, Peter took what looked like a mini-keyboard that was tied around his neck and I'd love to know what the hell that was because he was blowing into it while playing it like a keyboard.

MELODICA???

My friend plays one in his band, and I had no clue what it was the first time he pulled it out at one of their shows. I hope that's the right thing!

I'm gonna download "She's in Parties" when I get home, just 'cause you sound so excited and enthusiastic about the band.

YES, THAT'S IT! Thank you. I just looked it up on Google.

That is so cool. I had no idea such a thing even existed.

Haha. Um...enjoy? Yeah, if you haven't listened to them yet, I should probably mention that they're a bit strange, especially lyrics-wise.

throwing glowsticks. haha. excellent.
Maybe NIN's manager wanted them to do something together. THat's surprising to me, too.
by the way, I'm very jealous of you. Sounds like you had a good time!

Yeah, if I hadn't been trying not to get heat stroke and die at the time, some danceable "oontz oontz oontz" beats would have really topped it off.

Maybe. I heard they've done some radio duets (including "Hurt") recently as well. I like NIN and all, but I just can't imagine Peter Murphy actually singing those angsty teenage lyrics.

Aw, um...*doesn't know what to say*
