Things are getting worse between the PLANTs and Blue Cosmos.  Neither side's going to stop until the either's killed to the last man... or unless someone finally steps in and keeps them from crossing the few lines they havne't yet.   That black Gundam's going to be there and I might not get another

That black Gundam...the one with the ball and chain. What kind of grudge do you have with its pilot?

As it stands, it's not a grudge exactly. But during the attack on Orb, when I met you guys, one of Kira's attacks caused the ball to get deflected and hit a certain mountainside.

... There were... a lot of refugees there. And quite a few got crushed, including my entire family. I know it was an accident. Kira didn't mean for it to happen, and the pilot of the black Gundam didn't mean for it to happen. But I still want to see what kind of man its pilot is.

Well, I saw a nice chunk of Tokyo a bit ago with To- crap, mentioning Toji would not work out well. ...tally different people than I usually hang out with. You know, get familiar with a few more faces.

But I think I know of a few places that are within my budget.

Actually? No. Or at least not as much.

I think I'm starting to understand it a bit better; ideas sound less fullproof every time you have to say them. And I've had to explain them enough that even I'm starting to see my motives are still looking pretty flimsy. You're right, you know that?

Yes, I still want to see what kind of man that Gundam's pilot is. But facing him on the battlefield isn't the only way, or the best way for me to go about doing that.

... As it stands, I think I'm more inclined to let him live no matter what, if only to prove it to myself this isn't a case of revenge.

You're still missing the point. It doesn't matter who that pilot is. Or even the Gundam. And killing him is not the point either. None of that will change what's happened, nor will any of it help you deal with what you really need to deal with: You're own feelings about what happened.

Look Shinn, its going to be a crazy battlefield. This is a totally different sort of mission than we are on normally. We are going to be entering enemy territory, there probably won't be civilians to protect, at least not in the same way and if you are stuck thinking about talking this guy down you're going to get yourself killed.

Worry about your demons however you want to. But none of this will matter if you get yourself shot down. I have been in you're position before. Made the mistakes you are thinking about making. People pay for those mistakes with their lives.
