Colette's faring fine. There have been no signs of the disease yet. Though she's still soulless, once the materials are finally gathered, then we'll be able to bring her back, and possibly stop the disease before it even starts to Crystalize her body.

Good, good... we're not burning down a fuse, then...

I've got a lead that I'm pretty confident about that should let Harry and I create the fragment. The only trick is that there's a guardian we'll have to meet first...

I see. I'm sure I can ask someone to take care of the younger ones while I come and meet up with you two. Anything to try to bring Colette back to her normal state.

Well, if you're willing to do it, I'd appreciate a little more company. :) I must admit, I'm not totally looking forward to facing off against this thing...

Not as much luck as I'd like, no.

Somehow, I didn't think so...

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that we're not exactly in a world where the flow of magical power is quite as stable and predictable as we'd like... If we had lay lines, or if we could get to Witchelney, I think we'd be a lot better off.

That being said... I've found a book in Albion's library that tells of a guardian of a font of magical power. It's a pretty standard legend, when you get down to it, but I think I've actually been able to track down where this place IS... and, well... if we can go there and meet this guardian, it might be just the spot we need to whip this thing together.

It probably doesn't help that there's variations in magic between worlds -- we've got two different visions of magic, trying to duplicate a third.

Sounds good. I'm still on crutches, but I can manage as long as we're just talking. Where are we going and what are we dealing with?

Well... I can't rightly say that we'll only be talking. It's a fairly standardized legend...

As for where we're going, there's a forest some distance to the north of the the Castle of the 13 Warriors. It's a bit of a trek, and apparently the locals don't go there...
