Woo! I did it after seven years... Slowly - but I'm stoked on chicken and bacon.

Red meat still weirds me out.

If you want a good recipe I recommend:

Juice of one lemon
Small chopped onion
Butter or olive oil (optional)

throw it all in a dish and bake for about 20 minutes at 400-ish

Hmmm well the boyfriend is a good cook and says he'll teach me how to make something... I'll make that if this is a success though :)

Bold. I cant understand your decision, but what i CAN DO is respect your honesty. i cant imagine what it would be like to do what you are doing. I mean, i have never been a vegan, but if i were, i can at least understand the significance of your decision. you just smacked me in the face, with pants!

It's actually not sinificant at all, which is a big reason I'm doing it. For a long time now I've been eating like I do out of habit, nothing else.

You just hit the big red button, at least for myself.

Part of the reason I went from no meats, to, no meats and no dairy was because I was living the life of habit. I forced myself to go further down the restriction and thinking list in hopes of discovering, or rediscovering, my own eating-ethical-environmental choices.

Problem is, while I've learned a great deal, its been a year and a half and I've kept myself busy enough that I've not managed to make any deep choices - I'm following habit again.

I'm glad you were able to make a choice. Hope it tasted good - try rainbow trout next time.

Yea, every brush I have with meat is pretty painful. Fish is supposed to be better than the others though.

I actually dont plan on red meat ever.. never liked it, even the smell makes me gag (while seafood still smells tasty to me even though its been 10 years!)
