Danny wanted to go to camp that year more than anything.
So when Sam showed him the deep scratch he’d put on the family car with his bike, he didn’t offer to take the blame.
Usually he didn’t mind - he wanted to protect Sam. He was always in trouble anyway. But this was bad; Dad would flip. Grounding wouldn’t cut it.
He got it all the time. Sammy could handle one time, right?
