I had the exact same reaction while watching the Great Wall battle. In one split-second scene, I thought Mr. Fantastic was trying to kind of shove the stones back for a patch up job but, okay, helping out a team member is a noble goal too.

For a relatively short and self-contained movie I understand that the choice for Galactus makes it more impressive visually and easier for viewers to go along with it...but I'm still so upset I didn't get to see my giant purple man. WAAAH. Modern movie audiences just aren't ready for Kirby, I guess. (But I'm consoling myself with the news that there will be a Surfer movie penned by a writer I trust.)

I loved the ultimate Johnny combo at the end. Wonder Quadruplet powers, activate!

(What'd you get at the bookstore?)

Galactus is awesome, no doubt, but I do have to admit that I always kind of laugh when he shows up. He's enormous and purple and very very hungry! I think this works best in comics - I just don't know if they could convey this well in movie form. (Who's writing the Surfer movie?)

Hee! Oh my goodness, he had all four powers and he kicked Doom's butt while he was riding around on a giant surfboard! I'm still gleeful.

(Nothing for myself, sadly. I bought a gift for a friend, but I can't say what it was because she might read this. I did spend a long time looking at the Runaways v.1 hardcover. It's so very pretty.)

I know it all makes good movie sense but my judgment is clouded by having recently read tons of Marvel cosmic comics where half the cast make planets look like pinballs and some have heads like coffee pots but they still command my awe. (J. Michael Straczynski, who has written some of my favorite Spidey stories and is releasing a Surfer miniseries right now too!)

Cosmic surfboards make EVERYTHING better. I was so full of glee that in the movie they just transitioned into everyone accepting Silver Surfer as his name, after the initial "what?" of course.

(See, I'm so purchase happy I assumed that any comic books you petted you made your own. I...I have a problem, I know. Like owning the first two Runaways hardcover collections.)
